Cancellation was purely a financial decision. Single-camera shows like this with multiple sets, multiple onsite shootings, prominent actors, etc. are very expensive to make, and The Unicorn simply didn't have the ratings to back up the expense. Too bad. It was one of the few shows on CBS I still watch. With its cancellation and EVIL moving to their streaming service, CBS goes back to becoming the network geared primarily toward senior citizens. I am expecting an announcement of the MURDER, SHE WROTE reboot any day. Maybe they'll call it, MURDER, SHE BLOGGED? Has-been mystery writer Jessica Fletcher (now played by Annette Benning) will team up with her trans-gender grandperson to solve mysteries on her new Murderblog.com
