Never heard of the Bloodmoon. I will have to look it up.

I started a post about Kit Harington aka Jon Snow doing a sequel to GOT.

I'm very happy about this!

Dance of Dragons is not thousands of years ago from GOT timeline. At most it is only a century. I think it closer to a few decades though. There is not much difference in tech in the real world history from 600 AD to 900 AD.

You totally misread the original post.

AZLiam said the original prequel was set thousands of years ago, not this one.

Dance of the Dragons is set about 200 years before Game of Thrones. It's the story of a civil war among the Targaryens, back when they all had dragons (all the Targaryens, that is). So the war is as much in the sky as it is on the ground, or in the sea. Hence... Dance of the Dragons.

Westeros was ruled by various kings & lords until Aegon the Conqueror defeated all of them, and united Westeros (let's not talk Dorne). That was in 1 AC (After Conquest). At that time, the Targaryens became the ruling family. Around 100AC, there was a brutal civil war. That's what Dance of the Dragons covers.

Around 280-300AC is when the last Targaryen ruled, and Game of Thrones was set.
