Has anyone seen the shows Humans on Amazon Prime or Shadow and Bones on Netflix? And if you did, how was it?

We're on Episode 3 of Shadow and Bone. Enjoying it overall, but I will say it's proving to not quite be as good as I initially thought it would be. Story is getting a little murky for me. My 13 yo daughter read the books. She and my husband like it more than I do.

HUMANS was okay. Good not great. If you're in the mood for that kind of story, I'd recommend EX MACHINA instead, which is brilliant.

I have only seen the first episode of SHADOW AND BONE. Meh. It's not bad. But more suited for teens, I think. It has a very CW feel to it. I was totally lost as to what is going on. Even my wife, who has read the books, was confused.

I didn't dislike HUMANS. I just wasn't wowed by it. It was okay. But EX MACHINA was a gut punch.

I lasted through the whole first season of Shadow and Bones, because the direction and acting happened to be pretty good. The production values were also worth watching. A Game-of-Thrones wannabe. But the plot...just like the other posters said--juvenile.

That is one thing that really bugs me about many of these series and movies. So much spent on special effects and cgi and good actors but seemingly little spent on the slot and story line.

To be fair, it is based on a series of Young Adult novels. But yeah, it shows. It's Harry Potter + Game of Thrones by why of the CW.
