I watched because to be honest it is the only award show besides the People Choice that I have seen anything that is nominated. I didn't think the 5 hosts worked. They weren't that funny. I think when having a host for these shows a comic works better. I think the best part was Don Rickles. What was with Kathy Giffin hair. Also I know a lot of people who do these shows will use it as a platform to state pokitical issues. I know that a lot of people pushed voting period. I did think that Tommy Smothers looked like a fool. He was getting a award that he could have recieved years ago and they are giving him one now. Instead he talks about political issues.

I read on Drudge that this years awards show was the lowest rated EVER!

I guess people are finally getting fed up with Hollywood liberals trashing the US.

No one trashed the U.S. -- they did trash Bushy and Palin tho.

Anyway, it was poorly rated for two reasons:

1. the opening sketch was awful, horrible, miserable. I damn near turned it then, bu, like a car wreck, I couldn't seem to turn away.

2. the biggest reason is the writer's strike - a lot of people haven't come back to TV yet - much like the time it took for folks to come back to baseball after the strike. (hockey too)

I didn't think the political issues were to bad I have seen worse before. I just thought Tommy Smothers was alittle overboard and spect to much time talking about issues than the reason he got the award. I agree the 5 host thing was terrible

The hosts and the format was so bad - it was painful to watch. I did love Don Rickles making fun of the crappy jokes on the teleprompter and Mad Men winning best drama - but that's about it!
