I've noticed that Breaking Bad has a lot of parallels with Double Indemnity. It's a classic film about an insurance salesman who gets involved with a married women in a plot to murder her husband and collect the insurance money. There's an expert claims adjuster (Keyes) at the insurance company who seems to be able to sniff out frauds from a mile away. He knows something is going on with the claim for the death of the woman's husband, but it takes him longer than normal to piece things together, since the perpetrator was right under his nose.
Same deal with Breaking Bad and the dynamic between Hank and Walt. And Hank seems to be playing it exactly the same way that Keyes does. I wouldn't be surprised if Hank is starting to wonder if Walt is somehow involved in all of this, but continues to have doubts because he's so close. He might still continue to fill him in on things even if he suspected him, as Walt tends to be pretty terrible at hiding his emotions (the guy doesn't have much of a poker face). At the very least, the drunken slip-up had to arouse some suspicion, and Hank has to suspect something after the car crash (which seemed very deliberate) and Walt's refusal to join the family in protection. I think Hank's onto Walter already ... or at least in the process of considering him a suspect; but maybe still somewhat in disbelief; exactly like Keyes was in Double Indemnity.
As far as the scene at the end with Jesse and Walt meeting while someone appears to be watching them, I did not hear a click, but I did hear heavy breathing. But I can only think of two characters on the show who have been known for heavy breathing: Hector Salamanca and Saul Goodman's bodyguard --- Hector's dead and the bodyguard seems unlikely, so no clue who it could have been.
My big question is whether anyone is going to come after Walter and/or Jesse. They've killed off Gus and I'm not sure if any of his hired guns would come after them now that the head has been cut off the beast (figuratively speaking). The Cartel would seemingly be pleased with the death of Gus, as well, so it's not clear that they'd have any reason to retaliate. So that leaves no known enemies --- but there obviously could be some that we don't know about yet, including Gus's Chilean connections.
Great premier episode, loved the magnet. What do you think the router number belongs to?
Grand Caymen offshore account...probably Gus' secret hiding spot for his wealth. Or maybe his tribute payment to his bosses? Or is it Mitt Romney's offshore investment account number?
Definitely another trail for Hank to sniff out, any way you look at it. And though Gus doesn't seem like the kind of guy to write traceable checks or send traceable wires, you have to wonder if maybe this account will somehow lead back to Walt somehow.

and what happened to Ted?
He tripped and broke his neck as he was trying to escape from Saul's thugs. Loved that scene with Ted and Skyler. I think he was scared of Skyler...that he knows she was behind the intimidation effort and he now is thoroughly intimidated. Wonder if he will keep his mouth shut? Wonder if Skyler will offer to compensate him for his injury?
Thought it was a good episode overall, not fantastic...but that's okay. I have faith.
^^^^ Agreed, I thought the writing was a little contrived by BB standards but they have certainly set the bar high for themselves. I didn't dislike the episode, but I hope it was just a one-off.
Oh come on... did you miss the first 10 min of BrBa last night?
(Hint: it's the Denny's where the first act occured here in ABQ)
