Let's take some entertaining and creative shows off the air to make room for some more reality tv@@@. I still can't imagine people watching the bachelor or bachorette shows, but I see they have a new guy trying to find ms. right...as well as a mom for his kids. and we can look forward to another beauty show.
I don't think Lipstick Jungle is cancelled. They squashed that rumor.
I just don't understand where the network execs are coming from. They cancell so many shows without giving them a real chance. No wonder Network TV is struggling.
Is there a way to get accurate tv viewership ratings when so many of us have DVRs? Are the networks just greedy wanting each show to get a bigger piece of the ratings pie? It DOES seem that they aren't really giving shows a chance.

No. The Nielsens aren't accurate, and all the networks know it. But until someone comes up with a better plan, the Nielsens are all the networks have to justify advertising prices.
With the rise of DVRs, DVDs, streaming video, and even networks putting entire episodes online, I suspect it isn't too many more years before the whole Nielsen system implodes under its own absurdity.

Exactly. I rarely watch any TV live anymore. I either record it on my DVR, watch it online, wait until the DVD, or download it.
I thought it was possible for the cable companies to see who's dvr'ing what? no?
