LOS ANGELES, Jan. 20 (UPI) -- "Survivor Palau" contestant Jennifer Lyon has died after a long battle with breast cancer, Usmagazine.com confirmed Wednesday. She was 37.
"Usmagazine.com said Lyon was diagnosed with Stage 3 breast cancer when she was 33, then underwent a double mastectomy and chemotherapy to treat the disease."
chalk up another "victory" for conventional medicine.
How awful! Yes, and "they" want women to wait longer and get less mamograms? I'm sure "they" are men.
My condolences to her family also.

Said like a true male. I am not going to debate you, just stating what is in all probablity "facts", sir. You can not deny that males still are the majority decision makers and IF women had anything to do with stupid decisions like that is, SHAME ON THEM.

Actually I would pefer realist because what your implying about Male doctors making women wait longer to get checked out is asnine. But by all means take it up with the National Cancer Institute or think outside the box. Here's a news article about the Goverment task force that went before congress recommending that women wait until the age of 50 to get screened for breast cancer. Guess what? A women Dr. Diana Petitti is on that task force.
"Dr. Susan Love, author of what the New York Times dubbed “the bible for women with breast cancer,” endorses the new guidelines along with leading women’s health groups like Breast Cancer Action, the National Breast Cancer Coalition, and the National Women’s Health Network (NWHN). For years, these groups have been warning about the excessive use of screening mammography in the U.S., which carries its own dangers and leads to no detectible lowering of breast cancer mortality relative to less mammogram-happy nations.
Nonetheless, on CNN last week, we had the unsettling spectacle of NWHN director and noted women’s health advocate Cindy Pearson speaking out for the new guidelines, while ordinary women lined up to attribute their survival from the disease to mammography."
If you want to get upset about the new recommendation I can understand but to make a blank statement that it's somehow Men's decision let's don't.

The 'they' being referred to is the health insurance industry. The less money they pay out, the better their bottom line looks.
