Wouldn't make sense to me. In Longview there is a Popeyes right down the street from Church's on the Northside. Been like that for years and both are still in business. Can't believe Tyler didn't have a Popeyes.

Tyler did in fact have 2 Popeyes back in the 1990's.

Did you not read the title of the thread?

It's 2012 partner who said anything about the 90's. Clearly when I said didn't I was referring to the days when tyler didn't have one. Let's play catch up here man. Dang, your touchy about Tyler huh?

If you want fried chicken, Tyler's west side is loaded. Nice to know that Popeye's is coming back, although I'm still loving me some Chicken Express! That place is great!

Never heard of Cosmic Daves, but we already have plenty of options here when it comes to subs & sandwiches (Jersey Mikes, Jimmy Johns, Shlotzski's, Jason's Deli, Subway).

The Popeyes will be located off of Elm Street & the West Loop near HWY 64. There are plans to open more franchises in Tyler if that one is successful.

There used to be two Popeye's in Tyler, one on South Broadway where Ming's sits & a second location in North Tyler off of Gentry.
Really who cares if a town with 96,000 people don't have a popeyes!!!!!!

Obviously a demographics study by the franchisee suggest a Popeye's restaurant(s) be re-opened in this metro of 260,000+ people.

Bon appetite!

As mentioned several times already, Tyler had 2 Popeye's locations back in the 90's so its nothing new to this city.

They were closed down because the owner got old & retired from the business. Happens all the time. The buildings themselves & land they sat on were sold. One location became a convenience store & today its a drive thru Chinese restaurant. I believe the other location is now a Domino's Pizza if my memory serves me correctly.

In fact, a kid who was in my class in middle school (1991) got arrested for robbing the Tyler Popeye's with a toy gun. It was all over the news.

He told the cashier behind the counter to "Give me all your money & your chicken too".
