basically said - Go to Tyler! So we will be arriving in September sometime. After visiting Tyler, I feel much better about the decision. Very nice visitor's center and also very nice people working there! Could not have been more helpful. Traffic around Jacksonville was heavy, but most other locations seemed ok. I liked Whitehouse...Chandler was nice, but a little too small. Anyway, the point of the post is to ask about places to rent that would be safe for two gals (mom & daughter). Ideally, would really like to find a small house with a mother-in-law apt to rent...do those even exist anymore?? I did drive by the Cascades and thought wow! Did not have a chance to see inside. Anyone have any knowledge of the Apartments and the Condo's and what the HOA fees might run? Are they nice, big, small, run down? They looked wonderful on the outside. Also considering areas around Flint, but did not have to explore much that direction. Anyone have information...Pro's/Con's?? Thanks so much!

There are still houses with MIL houses/garage apartments, etc in the Azalea district but I don't know about renting. I'm not that familiar with the rental market in the Tyler area - sorry!

Thank you Kathryn - I'm glad to know some still exist- that's hopeful. I will keep my eyes on the rentals in that district.
