Hola! I am contemplating returning to PR for the Jazz fest March 29-April 1, 2012. I have never been during this time and would like feedback from anyone whom has any thoughts or opinions on what there is to do in and around the fest. When I checked out of my hotel last month, the doorman told me it would be in the Hato Ray(??) section or something? Any input is greatly appreciated! Muchos Gracias!!!

Weird it would be in Hato Rey. And normally it is free so that could explain why it would be in Hato Rey, since they are charging. it used to be in Condado.

So as a local, what besides the usual Jazz fest activities would you recommend? I wanna do as much stuff as the locals would do as possible. As well as the festival festivities of course..

The thing is if it were in Condado you could go club/bar hopping and have a fun time. But in Hato Rey there ain't much to do in terms of nightlife. Aside from the usual visit-the-500-year old-city-with-castles, you could go to the beaches, walk around the city a bit, visit Piñones nature reserve, depends if you have a car really. You can also visit other clubs in Condado, Santurce on Ave. Ponce de León and Old San Juan.
