Ok I live up in New York State. I've been collecting NJ Extended Benefits (EB) for the past 2-3 months. I didn't get paid today like I normally would've. Can someone help me understand why? I know about congress voting not to fund and all, but also hear EB is still being offered? I'm confused. Is it because I live in New York State? Thanks.

New Jersey has a "reciprocity rule" for out-of-state residents. That means you can only collect EB from NJ: (1) if the state where you reside also provides EB, or (2) if you are defined as a "commuter" under NJ UI law.

Unless at least one of these criteria is met, then you are only entitled to a maximum of two weeks of EB.

If NY has discontinued EB, that's why your NJ EB has ceased. But in any event, you should call the NJ UI office to determine specifically why your EB has stopped.
