Please help me with the following:

I was let go 7.27.2010, but I was told that I will continue to receive my pay and benefits until 8.31.2010. When do I file for unemployment? Right now or just wait until 8.31.2010

ps: I already started to look for another job. I just want to make sure that in case I need unemployment, I didn't filed for it too late (or too soon).
