Yeah, but at least in America, the youth will likely eventually get jobs. A significant number of the over 40 crowd (and a majority of the over 50 crowd) will not. It's a crisis in the making.

Also, for a lot of the younger people this is more like a temporary hiccup, they have plenty of time to get established, save for retirement, etc. That's not a luxury the 40+ crowd have.

Assuming that the nation's economy ever recovers. Also, whatever jobs they might find are likely to be poverty-wage jobs and many will struggle with student loans.

it was hard for 15-21 years old to find a job in the mid 90's so that is nothing new
