Not the best way to ask the question. You start a new tier when the prior tier hits zero and exhausts. So the better way to ask this is what is the weekending date that will cause your tier 2 to hit zero and exhaust?
Also, the trigger rates changed. If the state you're in has a falling unemployment rate, what we tell you today might not be true come Sept 23 or thereabouts because your state my very well not be eligible for tier 3 by the time you need it.
There is no grandfathering in the legislation. Each new Congressional extension of the legislation affects old and new claimants equally as far as qualifying.
You are eligible for the benefit as it exists at the time you reach that point, not based on the program as it may have existed when you first filed for benefits.
My Tier 2 has ended, last pay week ended August 31st (fri), I applied for the last payment, (covering for for the last 2 weeks, ending on Aug 31st) on September 2nd.
My week ending date for my last payment was August 31st FRIDAY?.
I am confused whether of not I will get 13 weeks Tier 3.
August 31 was a Friday, and weekending dates are usually Saturday for most states, and NY is the only odd one that ends on Sundays.
While I don't think your weekending date was 8/31, if it's really true, you'll get a 13 week tier 3.
