I filed my initial claim on 11/11/13. I haven't received any mail yet, so I checked my claim status online and it said I will have a non-monetary interview on 12/04/13. My question is when should I file my continued claim for benefits? Should I wait for a letter telling me when to do my claim, or should I start claiming weekly this Sun. 11/17/13?
You claim your benefits every week whether you get that letter or not. Failure to do so means you risk not getting paid for a week when you would have been eligible. If the system doesn't let you, you try to file by phone, or with a paper claim form. Do not rely on the UI people to make things convenient and easy for you.
And if that doesn't work got to the One-Stop center in your county and they will help you. I live in Union County and whenever I've gone there after 1pm there never is a line.
