Hello, I am currently on an open claim, with 2 months left on it. I currently opened the claim 1 month ago, and missed registering for the CWDS by 11/29/13. I was having trouble logging in and requested some information, but it took a week to get to me. Anyways, 11/29 was 30 days after the opening of the claim and now because I got the paperwork on Monday 12/2, I missed the 30 day window, and am now disqualified. The honest truth was I was out of town last week for thanksgiving and I suppose that letter was sitting in my mailbox. Anyways, what are my options now? can I appeal the ruling and stating my case or am I screwed?
The UC site says "Unemployment compensation (UC) claimants are required to register for employment-search services at www.jobgateway.pa.gov within 30 days after filing an application for benefits." "Claimants who fail to register as required will be disqualified to receive UC benefits."
Well, I registered, a day late, a dollar short and now game over. I've been actively trying to get a job thru staffing agencies, etc. Is there anything I can do?
