I need advice please! So initially I filed from unemployment because I moved from VA to TX do to my spouses military orders. We move to Houston, the same week I had the first interview & missed the call I started a job. I reported the job to VEC of course they closed the claim & I recently got the letter saying I would have been approved. So my spouses ultimate duty station is actually in another city and because of the inconvenience & the distance was getting too much he decided that we move to that city. So I quit my job which was at a staffing agency and reopened the claim. Unemployment informed me that they were sending me a letter to fill out & I will have another fact finding interview. I just need advice & the odds on me getting approved again. Thanks!!

VA only recognizes official PCS orders for trailing spouse. Unless your spouse received new orders to report to a new location, VA will not recognize a new quit to relocate as valid under trailing spouse. The regulations were written to maintain a equatable balance between relocating due to a military necessity and what every other non-military claimant is allowed. once you moved on that initial order and received benefits under the military trailing spouse, you became just another claimant. If your husband gets another set of PCS orders, you can again use the trailing spouse to quit for the relocation, but afterwards you go back to what everyone else gets. VA does not recognize bad housing choices as a valid reason to quit a job. However, VA will continue to recognize a just cause quit as a just cause quit.

I don't remember the time line, but assuming what Rabrrita says is true, you might want to go down the path the job was unsuitable, but you might have waited too long, and didn't lay the proper foundation before you walked out the door.
