My friend applied for UI just yesterday, but totally forgot all about something he should have added. How does one WITHDRAW an app & just apply all over on another day? Does he have no choice but to wait for his phone interview now & just tell them the other info then (which he was hoping he wouldn't have to wait till then)?

Where was that thread in here telling which #s to press to actually get to a LIVE person? If someone can help by posting that link OR telling me here, that would be appreciated as well.
OK, I found the old thread that gave the tricks of what to dial!

Thanks.

I doubt that. When applying for UI, less is usually more.

My friend forgot to tell them about a 1099 job they do off & on.

He actually reached a live person & just talked to them & they appreciated his honesty, so it's all good! They already told him when the phone interview was & what amount he'll be getting!

He'll be sorry. He should cease all 1099 work. This starting and stopping of a claim is going to annoy him and maybe cause real problems.

He'd be happy to stop working the 1099 job for a while, but the measly amt EDD already told him he'll be getting won't be enough to pay any rent. He didn't have to stop the claim. They already told him when his phone interview will be & just said to NOT put the 1099 job's name, address, or phone # on the weekly claim form (because they (EDD) don't want to contact them (the 1099 job)) & to put self-employed or independent contractor w/ HIS own address & phone #.

What makes him think that working 1099 on and off is going to help? They offset the earnings. In effect, he's working for free unless he earns like a month's worth of wages in a week.

True. I don't know, he's got to figure this thing out.

You need to help him get the correct information. The last thing the world needs is another person on UI working on the side and netting made $5/hr from the extra work and ignoring the pitfalls and inconvenience.
