To start, I have a good job that pays well. I like this job and they like me, but it is a seasonal job. We only work September-May.

my question is, how do I keep unemployment if I don't intend on getting another job?

I am not opposed to working part time but it would only be under the pretenses that I would leave as soon as my primary job started again. Most employers are turned off by this.

I assume teachers, tourism, and other seasonal employees also have similar issues.

You look for really good jobs. Jobs so good that if you got offered it, you'd be nuts not to take it OR that there's 100 other people that want it, that chances are you'll never be selected.

Just stay away from crap work, and usually your wish will come true: you stay on UI with no issues, or your life is really good.

Stay away from part-time work.
