Say you are approached by a temp agency for an assignment for covering for someone who is going to be on maternity leave for ~2 months.
The commute would be ~20 miles one way and you'd need to factor in wear/tear on your vehicle. This 'assignment' would be for 2 or 3 months at an hourly rate a couple $'s lower than my past assignments.
Given how some of my friends are still WTF...say until August/September.....would you take the assignment, not knowing how the office setup is and how they are handling the covid19/hvac situation....?
I'm all for taking the assignment but not sure of how the office is set up and how offices/cubes are set up. Not to mention if others are covid19 free....etc....
One thing that says i SHOULD say yes is so that i'm back in the work/office environment but another thing to consider is the personal safety of myself and NOT to catch covid19.
What would you do. Haalp?

I personally would not take it. You said it's less money than your previous job, correct? On top of that, it's only 2 months. I'm sure you will get different answers from different posters, but at the end of the day you have to consider what's in your best interest financially and health wise. Health wise? Everyone can answer this, stay home! Outside of 2 states, the country is exploding in COVID19 cases. Financially? That's a tougher choice. If it was a full time job, I would probably take it. Seeing the market wont be good for some time, and a permanent position is better than no job at all when unemployment runs out. A temporary position, is just not worth it. Chances are, you're currently making more to sit home and watch the war going outside from the couch. I would also roll the dice, on the extension of the cares act. Even if it gets reduced to 300.00. Its probably the same as you would make working, and not having to potentially expose yourself to a deadly virus.
At the end of your day, it's an easy choice. High risk low reward is what this temporary job is. Dont take it. Continue looking for something that's comparable in pay but also full time.
