Pretty much the title, on top of which they aren't letting me certify for benefits. There's just nothing there.

I informed unemployment that I had moved, got an email notice that asked to prove I was who I said I am by submitting two appropriate forms of ID. I sent pictures of my drivers license (that didn't show my new address bc I had just gotten here) and birth cert online and then got a letter in the mail saying I was disqualified bc I didn't give them appropriate ID. I filed the paper appeal and sent it straight away and that was 3 weeks ago. I've gotten nothing from them. Are they supposed to send me information saying they received my appeal and should await further instructions? Shouldn't I be able to certify for weeks?

I'm sorry if this has been posted, I tried looking up what to do but I think I'm just too frazzled bc I keep coming up with nothing.

My guess is they wanted ID that had your current address which matched what was used on application.

Wasn't there anyway to get a new DL with current address even if temporary?

No, likely system wouldn't allow certification for benefits because of this issue. CA is being very twitchy atm about having all ducks in row on before applications are approved. Considering the tens of billions they've lost to fraud (and still counting) can sort of understand their position.

I'd work on getting a new DL or any other acceptable document that has current address ASAP.

Thank you so much for your reply! I haven’t been able to get a license yet but I’ve also not gotten anything from unemployment. Hopefully I’ll still be able to do something about this once I get a license.
