Sounds like excellent timing, if Carrboro is a reasonably sized city!! With companies, a vibrant educated community, open to new ideas.
If not, go to the next biggest city!
Next, post this question in the North Carolian section. I read it, and there are a lot of people with strong opinions who actually live there. We on the other hand live everwhere, since this is the national employment section.
But since you are here, moving costs money, and you will be set back, paying 3 months rent, learning where the cheap things are, etc... replacing things, etc... like a bus pass, etc...
Forget the business. If your goal is to move to North Carolina, then just move, and work on finding a job! for the next 6 months. Finding a landlord who will rent to you, without a job, will be a job in of itself.
Then once you get the job, work for the next year, saving money for your business or do it on the weekends, until you get customers.
Talk to your customers, they will give you ideas of what they want.
good luck!!

I am willing to work odd jobs until things take off, like random service jobs and the like.
I was wondering what advise may be available to me about how to get things rolling with my health practice. I plan to contact SCORE and also set up some small lectures. I had thought of cooking some Chinese herbs and going to companies giving out free samples with my brochures to office workers. I could also talk about the art and science of combining herbs into formulas to help heal various conditions.
I'm wondering what creative or other advice readers can offer.
Thanks.
