As I was searching the internet I came across a site: terraserverusa.com and found some strange circles in the desert around Sandy Valley California. Can anyone tell me what the heck these things are and what they are for?

The circles you have in the attachment look more like “center pivot irrigation” with different types of crops being planted or harvested.

Yes the poll is mis named. There are no crops in the desert so not crop circles.

Crop circles, regardless of geographic location, are beautiful and intricate works of art from an as of yet unknown source.

I would have checked 'none of the above', had it been included in the poll.

I'm certain its a conspiracy of artists who found a new use for John Deere tractors.

Those are not crop circles, those are circle crops.
Crops watered with pivot irrigation. The reason for the circle is because the water does not come from irrigation ponds or canals, but from underground. At the center of each crop is a pipe that goes down to the groundwater and pumps it up to the surface.
No big mystery
