Yes it does fascinate! Frequent discoveries of things out there from new planets to other phenomena are incredible. Wait till fall when the ISON comet heads this way. If it does not break up we will have a light shiw like no other seen in recent times. It could be visible for weeks from anywhere.
For me it frustrates more than anything... like that poor young guy stuck on the farm while a whole exciting world of adventure and new discovery calls to him.
I have heard it said, that we know more about outer space than we do our own oceans.
And that just seems so backwards to me.
However, I can 'see' that because the ocean is a bit intimidating in a way, where as outer space pulls at me.
I've always joked (sorta) that if aliens came and presented themselves to us publically, I'd be at their spaceship door begging for a ride...'please take me off this rock'

I was very fortunate to have an older brother who was interested in Outer Space at a very young age...who went on to become an Astrophysicists. He taught me so many things about Outer Space and I have been hooked ever since.
The day I leave my physically trapped body on human earth will hopefully be the day I can truly explore Outer Space.
