We have a link that was started on 8/28/2013 about when daydreaming goes too far: https://www.city-data.com/forum/psyc...ydreaming.html. Here is a link to an article that ran in the U.S. News and world report on 7/12/2018 about the subject: https://health.usnews.com/wellness/m...erious-problem.

Apparently many people have suffered from this; but have outgrown it. There are some that will never outgrow this syndrome. How do we determine what is fact and what is fantasy when we have so many people that describe what many others feel is fantasy?

Hmmm, I never knew this was a thing! Im surprised it has an actual name for the disorder as well, although Im not sure its really needed, whats the difference between this and just a lazy person who doesnt want to do anything, Ive known 'lazy people' here and there and usually they do 'daydream' extensively, Im not sure they spend hours at a time on it though.

It was originally on the psychology forum. But the reason I revived the link on this forum was to question if it has any bearing on what people are actually reporting? The research and information on the subject suggest that our young should be discouraged and helped to face reality. When that does not happen; they can take their fantasies into adulthood. So I question if some of the subjects we talk about are from this syndrome when it goes unchecked? It is possible that some fantasies could be reinforced by others that have fantasized about something like an alien abduction or a mythical creature?
