extraterrestrial bipedal bird aliens called blue aliens.
“I was so far down in this conspiracy black hole that I was essentially picking and choosing whatever narrative that I wanted to believe in,” he added.
We have a member of Congress who believes California fires were started by secret Jewish space lasers. That in itself is disturbing enough. Then you realize that thousands of people voted for her. On purpose.
I believe that this has happened for a number of reasons. Negative political rhetoric. Churches getting political.
But add to that, Q gave people hints and that kind of made it like a game. Very intriguing.
There was a game we played years ago that had a big prize. There was a large buy in, but if 15 of us shared, it wasn’t much. We’d get maps and a book about the mythical area where the game occurs. The game sent you clues weekly. This was all pre-internet, by the way, so they came in the mail. Once every couple of weeks we’d meet up at someone’s home, and work on the game. The person hosting had to buy the pizzas, everybody else brought beverages. No alcohol. You had to be sharp. You would figure out what the clues meant, where they were on the map, where your next quest was leading you to, you would write it all down on the paper that they sent you and you mailed it back. On the next clue you got to know if you were right, mostly right, a little right, not right at all. Which means then you had to go back and go over those clues again and add the new ones and see where those took you. We never won.
It took a few months to play the game. Lots of fun. But it was a game. We knew it was a game set in a mythical land.
Imagine doing that over a series of years, and with the seemingly real stakes of our country. You might not buy in at first, but soon you’re invested. And you’re trying to save your Country from evil. Frankly none of this stuff surprised me when it happened. It freaked me out and scared me, but it didn’t surprise me. And at this point the people who believed in qanon are either going to walk away or double down and go farther down a rabbit hole, or they are going to get swept up in some other very negative alt-right groups, like the proud boys and the neo-Nazis.
Conspiracy theories of all kinds involve a person who believes in whatever particular theory has secret knowledge that the rest of us do not have which is why they believe, and they believe so strongly. And why when people don’t believe them it makes them angry.

Just like the other side, they also look at the other side and think how stupid they are to ignore all the 'signs' and that it is as plain as day.
The other side believes there is nothing to the narrative and they ignore all the 'pointers' as evidence for something nefarious going on.
I assume the opposition to conspiracy theorists also think the sun shines out of the governments backside - because that is what they would have to think otherwise they too would start their journey down the rabbit hole.
I cannot imagine many people these days thinking that governments across the world are squeaky-clean, but I suppose some do. I know many who are just not interested in thinking about such things. They dont care.
To the rest of us who dont believe the governments of the world are squeaky-clean - we probably think there are hidden agendas, secrets, and nefarious deeds, and which government doesn't have these things going on? History is our witness.
The secrecy agencies love their little secrets and the secrets keep getting more and more secret from even people in the secrecy and intelligence agencies. Thats what they do and what they love to do - for them EVERYHTING is seen as a threat because it makes it all more exciting and thats what floats their boat. The same mindset goes for conspiracy theorists too. Both think these things are real.
People judging the conspiracy theorists as in the quote above, like to pigeon-hole them into the nutcase box but secrecy and intelligence types are just as much nut-jobs as are the folks who wont even consider the existence of aliens. All these are more extreme sections of society but they may have a point because there ARE threats, there are reports of aliens and abductions both of which are often reported by very reliable people.
So...what are we(Joe Public) to make of these reliable reports? Do we just dismiss them in case we are considered to be irrational, threats to National Security and nut-jobs as the government would have us believe?

I read something very interesting about 'Conspiracy theories' years ago, and imo, it makes perfect sense...
It involved the CIA, they would intentionally create 'conspiracy theories' in order to discredit a secret that had been leaked...
JUST referring to something as a 'conspiracy theory' has tremendous power on public opinion!!! People automatically think 'WACKO, OFF THE WALL, TOTALLY NUTS' when they hear something called a 'conspiracy theory'...I dont have to mention how effective this could be for the CIA hopefully!
There are Conspiracies in the world, always have been. But mix it up with group psychosis and it is a recipe for trouble.
Yes, Julius Caesar and Abraham Lincoln were murdered by conspiratorial groups, yes, governmental groups sometimes conspire to commit crimes, and yes, the Mafia exists, but all that should not lend credence to child pornographers in the cellar of a pizza parlor.
Perhaps a better phrase than today's "conspiracy theory" would be "conspiracy claptrap?"
It sounds so much more intelligent and scientific to call something bipedal rather than two-legged. And aren't all birds essentially on two legs except for the few birth defects. I also like where they constantly use the word hominid for a man-like or ape-like creature to sound more scientific.

The Russians are already masters at this...the GRU is responsible for an incredible amount of 'crazy conspiracy theories' on all platforms of social media. We have posters here in politics I am sure that are Russian. Sow discord, spread lies with patriotic fever, tell them anything that aids in the collapse of western democracy. This is the goal, they are not evil though , many in the Russian right are saying Russia is ready to get picked once again, NATO on their borders, surrounded by China, Japan, etc...face it, they get invaded a lot. I'd be paranoid too if I was Ivan.
