I am no expert by any means, but I think since it has a bright spot in the centre, I think it is a rocket launch of some kind. It could have been launched from just about anywhere.

It looks to be pretty high up because the plume of exhaust has spread quite widely. It would help if you told us what area of what country you captured this image too, otherwise it sounds as if you are aiming to be mysterious rather than just trying to find a solution to an unknown. What direction is it from you ?

It reminds me of the spiral we saw over Norway a few years ago and there was another similar thing somewhere else I seem to remember not long afterwards.

Space X launched last night. I'm sure that's what it was.

Yeah, watching the SpaceX launch live on YouTube last night, when the 1st stage separated from the 2nd stage it created some amazing visuals (due to the rocket being high enough that the rapidly setting sun to the west lit it up) as the 1st staged "flipped" and started heading back to earth to land.

SpaceX launches Italian Earth-observation satellite, lands rocket

Here's a close up screenshot of the separation from Space X, from a high powered camera on earth:

What time was it? I watched the SpaceX launch last night at 6:11 PM (Eastern) and it was so clear I was able to see the rocket from separation all the way to landing back at the Cape. When the rocket is returning it makes spiral outflows just like the ones in your photo. If that photo was taken between 5:13 and 5:18 PM Central time yesterday it was the rocket.

This video cuts off before the nitrogen thrusters start making the spiral pattern on descent but you can get an idea. They use the thrusters for steering at high altitude where the fins aren't effective because of the thin atmosphere.

This is from an outdoor camera? Notoriously low quality. Could simply be a bug or dust on the lens.

There is this however also, very similiar and definetly NOT a bug, blamed on a failed satellite in 2018 falling back to earth

This was moving south and it was not a bug on the camera. And it was not a game camera. It was a little overcast. It was around 6:30-7:00 p m.

OK no bug then, and you ignored my second comment.
We got this back from 2010...

In that case it was the SpaceX falcon launch as well. What a coincidence.

I used to live in Central Florida and saw all sorts of crazy sights in the sky when they would launch anything from the Cape. Pretty cool.
