Years ago when i was still living in England the USAF from RAF Alconbury would swoop over the town most days,it was always exciting... i thought so anyway, it was "cold war period" so also a bit scary too.

I am an aviation enthusiast, when I was living in Scotland we were regularly go to RAF Leuchars air show.

Still like the Vulcan and the Victor. The VC-10 is still amazing too.

I'm pretty sure that I still see a VC10 flying round here. It might be at Boscombe Down- I seem to recall there's some ancient test aircraft crammed with data logging gear.

Living at Fairford was great as the Concorde was being tested when I was there.

I've seen three of them flying together!

Have you been to the air museum south of Edinburgh? I went last summer and it was absolutely brilliant! They even have a Concorde!!! http://www.nms.ac.uk/our_museums/mus.../aircraft.aspx

No never, It´s funny i´ve lived in Scotland for 26 years and never made it there but I will make a trip when I am back with my fiance.

I have seen concorde in NYC though

There don't seem to be as many air-shows, car-shows or even steam fairs as there used to be. Down here in Devon you could find a version of the last two almost every weekend somewhere in the county.

Something else that seems to be on the wane. Perhaps it's harder to drag your kids around them now or fewer old men to drag them maybe.
