If the pope takes sides, especially this early in his reign, then he is an idiot.

The guy believes in limbo, that Jesus rose from the dead and that homosexuality is an abomination. You're waiting for him to take a position on the Falklands before calling him daft??

Up to him what he believes, but picking sides on such a delicate issue would be beyond daft.

the argentine leadership are bound to try and get him to comment , he would be very foolish to do so , doubt he would

then again pople JP 2 spoke out against the soviet union in poland and indirectly alligned himself with ronald reagan around the time of the cold war

is their any stories about the new pope having covered up sex abuse against kids by clergy ?

its a bit silly to expect the pope to come out in favour of contraception and gay marriage , would you expect fidel castro to all of a sudden sing the praises of capitalism , the catholic church is not a democrocy and believe it or not the local priest doesnt go around forcing people to comply with their rules

im living proof
