Constitutionally, is the UK a secular country? Categorically not - our head of state, the Queen, is also the head of our established church, the Church of England.

Do most people look at life from a largely secular perspective? By historical and international standards, yes - I believe people in the UK are less likely to believe in a god, or consider religious ideas to be important, than at most other times in recent history, or in most other parts of the world at the present time.

I would say yes, absolutely. How many people actually go to church? Like 5% or something??

Saying that, I went to a state school but had to attend "assembly" every morning and ding the Lord's Prayer

At school I had to say the Lord's Prayer at assembly, too, and there were some religious lessons....but, that doesn't go on anymore at state schools.

Islam is as important a religion nowadays as Christianity or Judaism or Hinduism, but they're all minority interests.
