I'm trying to organisea trip to New York with my friends who are all 17 and 18 years old.

However, i was told that you have to be 21 to be able to enter the USA on your own. is this true, and if so can you direct me to a awebsite which clarifies this.

Thankyou

Nope. You need to be a certain age to drink or to drive on a British drivers license (apparently), but there's no apparent age limit to simply enter the country. Here's the direct link to the US Embassy in London:

NY is great for young people. You WILL be carded so bars will be out, but shopping is a blast. Plus you won't need a car in the city anyway.

Unless you and your friends are hot. In that case, you will get into some clubs/bars. At least that was the experience I had with the group I went with. Girls got served...us guys didn't.
