It's a more mature economic block made up of wealthy countries with their own currencies, besides their immigration policies are not as loose as those of the European Union.
It'd be an economic joint anyway, let's not talk about free movement yet.
The way the EU has conducted itself so far means we are unlikely to have the working relationship we initially sought, but that's up to them.
Drunker, Barnier, Tusk etc have all put the boot in, whilst Merkel and Macron have just stood by, so stuff them and the £100 Billion annual trade surplus they have with us. If they think we are going to pay vast amounts to continue such trading and cow tow to them, then they can think again.
The UK needs to concentrate it's efforts on other markets and in forming other global trade agreements and joining other trading organisations.

I came across a blog in which it was suggested that the UK could be members of both EFTA and NAFTA.
I was having trouble posting a link to another forum. The title is "The Future of UK's trade relations: NAFTA, the EU customs union or a bilateral agreemen?."
I have seen comments that the UK could have an associate membership in EFTA, similar to what Finland once had.
