I so agree.... you would only have to ask someone lying sick in a bed for years waiting for an organ...
I think it's a good thing. Although I can see the headlines in the Daily Mail already - they'll probably be saying "part man, part pig" or something like that.

what a good idea Star to have them automatically organ donors... I still dont know why more people dont leave parts when they die... as if you get a PM after death they do all that anyway but supposed to put it all back.. I think how fast the doctors react though after death might put some off.. as they have to act quick ..

I know. They can have anything of mine after I go - it's not like I'm gonna need them. It's a bit like recycling in a way, and I'm all for that.
Even though everyone is assumed to have 'opt in', I still think they need permission from family though.

Probably Star... you see from what Ive heard it holds up the funeral as they can keep your body for some time.. or so Ive read.. but not sure if true of not.. and this puts relatives off as they need a funeral to put things in place and get over the death ...but it wont be many years before when were born we are expected to leave our bodies to science to help others..

I can understand the relatives not wanting to delay a funeral, but I think they should honour the deceased wishes on whether they wanted to be an organ donor or not.
There was a programme not so long ago about people leaving their bodies to medical science. They actually showed the people being interviewed some time before they died. It was really brave of them but very difficult to watch.

Can imagine how difficult that would be... these people are so brave.. but to think how many peoples lives you might save is wonderful... a couple in the UK gave their dead babies body to save or help five other children.. now how unselfish an act.. as it must be extra difficult to make a decision like that..
