I was wondering if you could help me. How easy is it to settle here.
I am a uk citerzin. My partner is in the usa airforce he has been stationed here for 5 years hes inlistment is up next year, he is wanting to settle here with me. We have been together for 2 years. He is wanting to study as well as work. What sort of visa would be best and how much would it all cost etc?

If you have lived together at the same address for 2 years and can prove it he can apply for the Unmarried Partner visa. If not you will need to get married and he can apply for the Spouse visa. You will need to be able to sponsor him - see https://www.gov.uk/remain-in-uk-family/overview
Alternately, he could apply for a student visa if he wants to study full time and can afford all the fees.
Work visas are difficult to come by but a spouse visa allows him to work anyway.

If my knowledge of US bases in UK is right they'll also have a Personnel Officer on base that should be able to give him a lot of the information he needs, if not there's also the military attachés office at the US embassy.

US serviceman staying on after enlistment isn't unusual and they should have a standing process to help those that do.

NO idea, you'd better consult the official department. Thanks!

If your spouse is on a NATO agreement visa (SOFA), he may have to return home to get a new Visa. I hear you can't adjust status using his current Visa....but I am not COMPLETELY convinced.

In that case, he'd have to return to the USA just like everyone else.
