it seems like if being a nuclear power is needed, why not replace uk with india?
the us spends a large part of the gdp on military spending, would the uk have to bump up from its current 2% gdp to keep its obligations on being a "world" police? would the uk even want to? wouldnt the EU police itself without uk involvement now?

No, that was already discussed in a meeting with the UN and the UK government. The UK seat is on the security council is permanent.

If it were to be removed from that position on the council, it'd be a complicated, protracted mess.

I don't think it will change anything, which is the problem. The Security Council is what makes the UN both useless and impotent.

I'm all for eliminating an organization that puts dictatorships and Islamic nation's in charge of special committees involving things these nations knowingly violate daily.
