How embarrassing for the gender warriors (assuming always that they are capable of embarrassment):
The Guardian view on staging Shakespeare: we must keep the Bard alive and speaking to us now

Authentic productions of the playwright’s productions can be brilliant but Britain must not be bound by a hertiage-industry view of Mr Anne Hathaway’s work

Mr Anne Hathaway had a lovely thatched cottage.
The Guardian does have it's faults, but when compaed to the Tabloids and many other papers, it's not that bad. It's perhaps a little too liberal but the website is at least free, indeed it has one of the best free news websites of any media source.

I do find some of the editorials a bit jarring with their blatant OTT/blinkered liberalism on certain issues. But I will say it is a very good newspaper overall, and some fascinating / absorbing articles on a varied range of subjects.
I used to quite enjoy The Independent many moons ago, but for whatever reason it went down hill very quickly in terms of quality reporting.
The Guardian, is perhaps my own online paper of choice - despite its touchy-feely political correctness-gone-overboard

The Guardian is a decent free online media source, as for the Independent not sure what happened there, it used to be okay.
The Guardian has always been a bit touchy feely, the type of newspaper read by Univesity Lecturers who wear those jackets with leather patches on the elbows or by middle class Social Workers, Teachers and others of that ilk.

The Guardian 's website is excellent, but the Daily Mail's too, I 'm a fan of both and so I have a wide array of opinion (conservative and liberal)
