OMG! I just saw this on CNBC. Who’s the next one up? Disruptions like this are never good for a country but fortunately the UK is strong. Still, you have to wonder…

The British Prime Minister is different to a US President, as they are only first among equals in terms of the Cabinet, and backbench MP's have a lot of power through the 1922 committee.

After the disastrous mini budget and subsequent u-turn, Truss was being hounded by media who were like sharks sensing blood, whilst polls indicated she was extremely unpopular, whilst Tory MP's and Cabinet Ministers were increasingly unhappy with her leadership.

Candidates to replace Truss, include the new Chancellor Jeremy Hunt, former Chancellor Rushi Sunak, Defence Secretary Ben Wallace and former leadership candidate Penny Mourdant.

Jeremy Hunt may now be the care taker PM, whilst a new leadership contest, which will only involve MP's, rather than party members will now take place, whilst there will be pressure for a General Election one a successor is chosen.

CNBC is saying Hunt has no interest in leading the party and the country. They’re reporting that Boris Johnson could make a surprise comeback!

The problem with Boris, is that he is facing future an on-going parliamentary inquiry in to whether he misled parliament, and the end result could see him removed as an MP.

Boris Johnson could be removed as MP if found to have misled Parliament, speaker confirms - ITV News (29th July 2022)

As for Old Joe, hopefully he keeps his trap shut, as his recent criticism of Truss, did not go down well in many Westminster circles.

The cut from a top tax rate of 45% to 40% was criticised by Joe Biden, as being trickle down economics.

Joe Biden is the President of a country with a top tax rate of 37%.

Even Truss's was still 3% short of the US current top rate of tax.

So is it okay when you do it Joe, but not okay when Britain does it or did you forget that your own top rate of tax was 37%, as you seem to have a lot of memory problems or are you engaging in the very same trickle down economics that you accused Truss of engaging in.
