What, no smokey bacon?

I like a nice scampi 'n lemon Nik Nak myself, but that's another story (i'm also partial to a cheesey puff too). My local crisp maker's current flavour list is here:

Seabrook Crisps

They were never as good as the glory days of the 80's when God's own crisps were fried in beef lard rather than nancy boy sunflower oil

I realise that readers not of the UK or a of a certain vintage may believe I'm some sort of pervert (which of course I am) so here you go by way of an explanation:

Damn funny thing though. Other than a nice drop of haddock for my Friday night tea, I hate fish

Worcestershire sauce is good, I had a baked beans packet of crisps about 15 years ago I loved. Jalapeno and Cheddar is my fave right now.

Anything that smells. Cheese and onion #1, prawn cocktail, sour cream and chive (M&S),
Worcester is also good and Walkers sweet chilli.

smokey bacon is hands down my favourite, even more so as I can not get them very often.

This chat is reminding me of all the fabulous sandwiches you can also buy in M&S or Boots. Brie with grapes, cottage cheese & celery, BLTs the size of doorstops . . . Sorry but Subway just doesn't cut it sometimes. Will have to start making my own, altho I'm not sure I can handle slicing grapes in half .

When we lived in England we used to get Walkers which were very delicious. My favorite was a steak crisp of some sort.

chilaili - OMG!!! My husband listened to me go on about M&S Sandwiches for years, he was totally mystified why I thought they were so much better than what I can get here.... And then I took him. We love to grab sandwiches and crisps and biscuits as we rush to the train and then have a picnic on board. I've tried to replicate them, but I'm starting to think that they put something in the bread that's addictive.

Me: Smoked Salmon with soft cheese... and Wensleydale with Carrot Chutney
DH: all the wraps. Prawn Cocktail from Walkers.

I wonder if its just nostalgia, because I think Walkers and Golden whatever they are called crips are nothing compared to the variety I can pick up at M&S or Waitross these days.

Much ado about nothing.
