Is there a "south side" that is safe or isnt that bad? LOL
innyc , the south bronx, and jamaia/south jamaica/far rock in southern queens are bad lol.

but in Brooklyn , Manhattan , and staten island its the opposite its the north side that are bad overall.

In Pittsburgh, the neighborhoods to the south and east are generally nicer than those to the north and west. In the suburbs, though, it's the opposite, with the northern and western suburbs generally being nicer than the southern and eastern suburbs.

In Denver, the southeast area is one of the better parts of town. It can get a little seedy towards the northern city limits.

Everytime I go to Denver, I literally can't find a decent part of town. It's like a dump built right into the side of a mountain.

South side of Charleston is a nicer part of town (James Island, Folly Beach, Mt. Pleasant). The northern part, especially North Charleston, is not as good. Shootings happen in North Charleston all the time, and many people won't go to that whole area because of crime, even though there are some parts much worse than others.

Tell us how you really feel! It's 30 miles from the mountains, BTW.

Wow, really? I think if you actually lived here you would think otherwise. Denver is a great city - I'd rather walk around Denver at night than ANY city in, say, the Northeast or Midwest. And for the record, incase you didn't notice, Denver is on the plains, not on the side of a mountain.

Anyways, back to the original point of the thread. Opposite in Denver! The south (and west) side is where I-25 runs, so there are many office buildings and new high rises stretching from the freeway all the way north into the actual downtown. South Denver is also home to the University of Denver. Southeast Denver is basically a suburb. North Denver is where all the industry is, as one poster before me said, all the industry is down river, which in Denver happens to be north.

This isn't the case in Minnesota for our large cities.

Minneapolis: North side is bad while the south side is nice.
St Paul: East side is bad while the West Side (geographically the west side, not the neighborhood on the south side of the river) is much nicer.
Duluth:West side is more run down while the east side is the rich snobby area.
