My wifes company may be building in Vernal, UT and we may be relocating there. We've been to Vernal once, and we thought it was a nice clean town. We mainly are looking for any kind of advice on moving to that area. We currently live in Cheyenne, WY, and we would be renting in Vernal as well. I know that jobs are tight around that area, but with my wifes salary I can be Mr. Mom or work at a 7-Eleven and we would be just fine. However I am currently working in Television Broadcasting and have an Associates degree in Information Technology. We really don't have many hobbies except mountains. The whole bar hopping thing is totally not us. We aren't Mormons or of any other religion. We are just looking for a nice clean town that would be good to raise a family. Any help and/or advice would be appreciated. Thanks.

Vernal is a great place to raise a family. Safe town and great schools. Now is a good time to move here before the prices start going back up. When the jobs come back, it gets EXPENSIVE! We moved here in '08 and paid top dollar for our home so we're in pretty deep. We aren't LDS either and it's never been an issue other than our neighbors not wanting to be our best friends. They do let our kids play together though and that's all that really concerns me. With the oil field work, the town is a big melting pot of people from all over. It took a little while but we've made some really good friends here. Even now in lean times, there are still alot of jobs to be had. Good luck and I hope this helps a little.

Thanks for the advice. It would probably be a year or so out yet, so I thought I'd try to see what some different places are like. I was in Vernal once before and was quite impressed.
