Does anybody here know any families like the fictional one on the HBO series "Big Love" ?

...No. I know this is like a little kid answering in the negative when a teacher is looking for an answer in the affirmative ("Who knows what politics are?"), but I don't think you'll find anyone here who does know any polygamists.

Do I know them personally? No. Most men I know say that the one they have is plenty enough for them....my own DH included.

Have I ever seen a polygamist community? Yep.

yeah that's what my DH says too. He says he would go crazy with more than one. I think most men feel that way. I know I wouldn't want more than on husband.

I know several people that are former FLDS, and yes one that had more than one wife, but not in the "Big Love" way. Those families do exist out here, and it's easy to tell, because they paint their houses all the same color.

^you mean that everyone that buys one of those housing community clones is a polygamist? not only is their wall paint identical, but the floor plans, the wood, the brick, the siding, the landscaping, the curtains, the... well, you can see where i am going.

There are polygamists out there no doubt, you see it on the news. I did know a girl that I met at a singles conference that had recently divorced her husband of 20 years because he wanted her to let him have more than one wife ( of course it wasn't legal) but he wanted to live that way. She would have no part of it. She took her 6 kids and left.
