me neither. mostly i just think that they deserve what's coming to them. if i had to deal with two wives letting me know every time i did something that wasn't up to their standards, i'd probably go on a killing spree.

hurry, dems, come take my guns...

I've never known anyone personally, but I've seen and heard of them personally

In 5th grade, there was a girl in my class who's dad was married to her mom and 4 of her mothers sisters. They moved mid year...never heard of them again

There was a polygamist house in Mapleton, it was known they were polygamists. The kids rode my bus to and from school...there werent a tons of kids, just 3 at the time, so who knows how many kids were there in the home. They no longer live there anymore and the house was demolished and now there's an animal hospital there.

I did see one of Tom Green's wives at Walmart in Springville a couple of times, with a couple of kids (apparently a couple moved out here for a moment when he first went to prison?) and i've seen another mother with a couple of kids, who had the polygamist look (hairdo, dress of the like) and assumed they were since they stuck out like a sore thumb in this area

I saw a man and 2 pregnant women getting their picture taken at Kiddie Kandids many years ago....dressed of the like.

But again, I dont know anyone personally.

In my work (not in Utah), I've dealt with two polygamists, both who held themselves out to be "Mormon"--though I'm sure that both had probably been expelled from the church.

My SIL was raised polygamist but her mom divorced(?) her dad. She doesn't really talk about it. She just said that there is a lot of jealousy and she was one of the oldest kids so she was always taking care of the younger kids (all of them). I grew up in Sandy and there were a couple of polygamist families in the neighborhood but they kept to themselves and you didn't see them out very often. You could identify them at stores and other public places because of the way they were dressed and how their hair was worn.

People get obsessed with it. It's just like any other Religon, cult, organization, etc. You have some good ones who don't bother anyone and are living their lives the way they believe. Then you have the ones from the FLDS organizations - they believe in a lot of things over 100 years ago - dressing, hair, etc. Some of them are good ones, some are bad. If you are that type of woman who wants that lifestyle and can find the right man, you would be very happy - the wives share everything (don't think dirty, I didn't mean that at all). I feel the children suffer a lot because of how people are and they get riduculed - Judge not that you be not Judged! Some of them just want to have more than one woman and call themselves Polygamists - those are the ones you have to watch out for, you don't know where they've been, done, or anything. I myself prefer my husband and our Wonderful Monagomous relationship. I wish all the best for the women involved that they know what they really want - been there, done that - got away and got help.
