We are very excited about our move to Hill AFB, but need some help in the school district dept. I am looking for suggestions of the best elementary schools in Davis and Weber counties. Anyone having info, please post!
Thanks! All other info greatly appreciated too.

Pretty much all of the elementary schools in Davis are good. The only thing I would watch out for is that Lincoln Elementary (on Antelope Dr.) is a year-round school.

I don't know much about Weber School Dist.

Welcome to Utah! The Davis School District has some of the best teachers in the state, which is reflected in the high school having one of the best graduation rates. (See below)
ksl.com - Utah High School Dropout Rates are Up
My children attend Kaysville Elementary in Kaysville (about 15 min. from the base) and they love it!
Please don't hesitate to contact me directly if there is anything else that I can help you with. I'm a transplant myself (moved from Alaska 8 yrs. ago). Since practicing real estate here I've gotten to know most all of the neighborhoods in Davis/Weber Counties.
Best of luck!

Hello, We are moving to Utah next month due to my husband being stationed at Hill AFB as well.

We don't have children, so I don't know what schools are best. We are buying a home in Syracuse and there is alot of hype with the new high school there, we will see!

Are you coming from Beale? We will be leaving Cannon AFB in New Mexico. What does your husband do in the AF? I have heard a lot of positive things about Syracuse too, just don't know if we can afford it.

We are coming from Monterey, Ca - my husband is doing is MBA at the Naval Postgraduate School. We found Layton to be the most expensive. Syracuse, Clearfield, Roy, Clinton seemed all about the same for home prices.

My husband is a program manager/aquisitions.

The BAH is pretty low, IMO.

Smile Moving to HAFB

The schools in Davis School District are great. I have 4 kids in Antelope Elementary and several neighbor kids go to New North Davis Jr. High School. The High School is Clearfield High which had the most high school graduates in the State 2 years ago. We live in between Layton and Syracuse, walking distance to Elementary and Jr High and High School bus stop is at the corner of our home. We are 10-15 min away from HAFB and just listed our home for sale. We are looking to move East to get closer to my husbands work. If you are interested I can send you the home details. I am originally from Southern California, East LA area, moved here in 1996 and I have not looked back. Great community family friendly people regardless of your race, color or religion. This is a great place to live and great place to raise kids!

Send me info on your house and we will take a look at it. We are not moving until May, so that may not work for you though. I tried sending you a direct message but have not heard back, so thought I would try it this way.

Default Layton

Schools in Layton are fine...no problems that are not present anywhere else...and it's close to the base.

Do you know where you'll be living?? I live about 1/8 mile off the runway at Hill...fell free to PM me with any questions. Good luck!!
