When I saw the news (on TV) Herbert did mention something about planning or something ...

If the government does NOT take into consideration the water supply, which is not looking good anyway, we are in serious trouble sooner or later.
Sure you can build more freeways, you can get rid of garbage (plenty of out of the way places to bury it), you can build more homes/apartment complexes).
But there is only so much water available and sadly that source is shared between a few States who all are going to need more of it !!

I'd like to dedicate this song to the great state of Utah.

Yes exactly why I hope and pray I live long enough to get OUT of dodge as they say and move somewhere less populated and WITH water. One can only hope. I have NO desire nor intention, should I live long enough being a "baby boomer", to remain in this mess here.

Careful what you ask for Ballo. It is likely to be just that in the next 30 years or less. How very sad. I'll just hang onto my memories of what it was like here in the 70's. I know that just irks a lot of folks that think it's ALL about Progress/Growth as they are ONE and the SAME and I don't consider it a good thing as some seem to.

dcisive,

I think UT benefitted getting past the 2 million mark. That being said I did mention water as a one of the factors when I responded to Mark's post.

I also mentioned OR and WA on purpose. One state doesn't want to grow like the other. I don't think UT can have millions more. I do think people will move from SW states thinking UT has it better than their state. I don't claim to know the answers, but by starting this post I opened a door for some to discuss reality and growth.
