I was planning to drive down tomorrow evening (Friday) but wanted to know the snow conditions on the freeway. Also, is it planning to snow there tomorrow afternoon? I'm coming from Boise.

Google UDOT....you'll find it helpful. Getting snow flurries...a few accidents during commute hours (when people are nuts...want to take advantage of sick leave, I guess). Roads quite manageable if you drive by the book. If any problems, they will probably be in Idaho just north of the border.

Question Weather in 1st weeks of March

How are things usually the 1st couple weeks of March? Can the weather go either way, or is it usually almost always warmer (above freezing by then)?

We're trying to decide whether to fly or drive. We sure better decide ASAP. The movers are scheduled to move our stuff. So, guess we gotta know how we're getting there soon, so we can get there before our stuff.

In answer to both questions. I snowed in the mountains and rained in the valleys last night. This morning it's 41. I don't think there are any really high places to travel between here and Boise, so I'd think the roads will be fine.

As for the March conditions -- it certainly can be snowy. That's one of the oddities about this climate -- I've even seen it snow in May (some people claim June), but then it can warm up quite quickly.

Worst spot is from I -84/86 junction to the Utah border. High winds and drifting snow is possible...March should be fine tho. Where I live, we've had snow on the 4th of July. Doesn't stick of course...just an oddity. This stretch is so highly traveled that it is kept very clear when necessary.
