i'm proud to say that the u of u has produced some of the church's great leaders. it is definitely a good school–as evidenced by the paddling that they gave byu a little bit ago.

You wont see any hate crimes against "atheists". Mormons don't believe it's right to try to physically hurt other people (even those who don't share their beliefs). You may run into people trying to be passive aggressive (a lot of this in utah and NOT just the LDS) or just flat out condescending, but if you don't acknowledge this sort of behaviour, and let it roll right off of you, then it's difficult for those people to feel justified in their behaviour, thus giving them no satisfaction

Being assertive in utah may not be fruitful, especially if pursuing career goals, but it's a sure way to let it be known you're not going to put up with anybody trying to coerce you into sharing their apostolic beliefs

It's best to never discuss religion in utah, however it's sometimes hard to meet new people that don't understand it's irrelevant "what church you go to". Especially in the "older" crowds (lds baby boomer generation).

I'm sure the general mindset of a percentage of religious folks believe that the atheists are more prone to violence and hate crimes as it's widely believed that such heathens moral structure is flawed, having not been derived from religious ideals or the fear of divine retribution in the afterlife

Atheism is overrated in my opinion. I have personally chosen the way of agnosticism, as i think it's more respectful of others beliefs. As an agnostic, it's pointless to argue that any one belief is right whereas atheists seem to like to discount all religions, and convince the religious that they believe in fiction.

Not true.

Due to drought there's usually anti-burn ordinance. You'd have to bring them into Idaho.
