Was this restaurant on 164th even opened a year? I noticed it closed and very abruptly. Seems strange to build it and close it so fast. Does anyone know the reason it closed? I would think there would have been a market for the chain here.

It must of just closed briefly because we just went there a couple of weeks ago.

I found some information on it and found the restaurant is permanently closed. El Pollo Loco closed some other restaurants they have in other states also. They have a new one opening in Beaverton next month I think, and there is one in the Gresham area that is opened or so I am told.

It was hideous.

El Pollo Loco is supposed to be nicely bronzed. We ate there a few times in the first 5 months. Nothing like any other El Pollo I've been to. Flabby and pale. Yuck.

They were incredibly busy initially, if they had managed to get the product right, I think they would have done fine. We live north of Orchards, and I would have happily driven there for easy meals. Yikes, it was awful.

I heard that place was so-so. but up in that area, there are dozens of restaurants within a couple mile radius of that place, lot of competition. they gotta be better than so-so to survive around there.
