My parents and I will be visiting Vancouver at the end of June. We want to rent a condominium for about a week, we will have a car. In what area we should stay? I do not mind driving 30minutes or taking public transportation. I see that Burnaby, Richmond is cheaper to stay, and that the area near Stanley Park is reasonably priced.
What should I plan to see. I do not like museums. I like to walk around the city. I would like to see the area with bars, etc.
My parents are thinking of moving here from Toronto. They are retired and would be able to pay up to $1200 for 1 bedroom apartment. They are not interested in restaurants, theaters, but my father likes to take long walks (over two hours) So proximity to a park would be a plus. Thanks in advance for all responses.
If you think the area near Stanley Park is cheaper then that is the very best option lots to walk to and parks are nice. Most of the apartments in that area are older and dark and may not have parking. Parking may be out in the open or street unless you are subletting a condo that includes parking. Richmond is mostly Asian, and is flat and spread out. Burnaby is OK but there are areas that are sketchy, it is a large area so it depends on where you would be staying.
