According to the latest statistics...

"January sales in Greater Vancouver were the second lowest January total in the region since 2002, though only 146 sales below the 10-year average...

Last month’s new listing count was the highest January total in Greater Vancouver since 1995."

Low sales and high listings? Looks like certain parts of Vancouver are entering a buyers' market soon. Could be a good thing for those wanting to finally buy after seeing housing affordability deteriorate in Vanhattan for so long.

This is very interesting, my husband and I have been watching the market for a while now, keeping an eye on houses that have been listed for a while.....this is good news for us.

The market slow down may be neighbourhood specific. I found out that the house at 4693 Sophia got 10 offers and sold for 975K (listed at $849K). Hopefully, you're finding something different in your neighbourhood of interest.

I live in Richmond and as much as I would love the market to change here this might be one of the areas that keep getting more expensive or at best flat lines. Richmond is our ideal area to buy, but realistically we are looking more at North Delta, or Langley.
