Tomlcsc, the prices I'm talking about are BEFORE any taxes are applied to the bill. But yes, tax is quite a bit too.

VAT is included in the price of goods for sale correct? I'm not sure because I've never really had to work with the VAT.

I live in the SF area and I just enjoy trolling the Vancouver forum. As such, my comments are probably irrelevant anyways

I think it's hilarious how often people seem to cite the cost of ice cream as an example of an expensive item here. I could never notice something like that.

Things are expensive in Vancouver but ice cream is a bad example. Canadian dairy in general is much more expensive, partially because we have protectionist policies that protect the dairy farmers, and partially because Health Canada will not allow the use of Bovine Growth Hormone in our cows and Americans do. Personally, I'll take the higher prices.

The constitution or any of our laws didn't say Canada and its cities will always have to be white majority. So get over it already. When you are minority, act like a proud one, not a sour one. What's wrong with not being majority anyway? Be afraid of being called "visible minority"?

The white in several US states will cease to be the majority too. It is a trend. You can only blame yourselves for not having enough many even to replace the population.

But I notice US stores keep popping up, like Victoria's Secret, Wal-Mart, and the new Target. Does this mean Vancouver is headed toward increased affordability?
Where have you found Ben and Jerry's for $4? Usually it's about $6 here.

BIMBAM and Jesse44: I mentioned Ben & Jerry's, which is NOT made from that hormone. I just bought 2 pints of Ben & Jerry's at Ralphs here in the US last night, but in Vancouver they're usually 7.50 each.
But yeah, normally at Target or something they're $4 a pint; that 2 for 6 was a sale.

if it is not written, it is not law. Any race can be the majority if their number exceeds 50%. Canada has always been white majority because white people settled here early, that's it. Canada belongs to Canadians, not white Canadians.

or just move to a town that is 95% white. I am sure there are plenty of them for you to choose from.
